Barbera is an ancient variety with its historical roots in Italy, where today it remains the second most widely planted red variety, after Sangiovese. Bright red cherry fruits combine with rich raisin, spice and fruitcake. The wine is carried by a great acid structure and fine tannins, offering a lengthy rich finish. An easy to drink light, fresh wine, with a bright violet colour when young and a ruby colour when aged. Barbera is a great everyday wine.
