Sangiovese is one of the most outstanding Italian varieties. This variety produces some of Italy’s noblest wines. It ripens about the same time as Shiraz. In Australia, the variety is successfully blended with cabernet sauvignon and merlot, which can boost the colour and flesh out the palate; the blending can particularly give a bit of sweetness to the front palate which really helps to fill out the wine.

Sangiovese possesses good versatility and can provide a wide range of wine styles.
Other features of sangiovese include quite intense fruit, a high degree of savouriness with earthly tannins and complements food and drink it with any meats.
Our 2012 Sangiovese is great chilled for a refreshing summer drink or straight off the rack for an easy to drink light red anytime of the year.
